Driver Improvement Program

Cancellation & Refund Policies

Class Refund Policy

Our hope is that all students who sign up for the curriculum will be able to complete the program and LEARN TO DRIVE. We will work with all students to make this happen and allow transferring into other sessions. Students have two years from the end of the classroom session to complete their behind the wheel requirements though if desired, may complete this within 18 weeks.

A student who withdraws or transfers before completion of the program will be provided a form indicating the amount of instruction completed and given any refund due.

Before the end of the fourth class, a student may with withdraw by submitting written notification that the student is not intending to complete the program.

A student may transfer by giving written notice that, due to circumstances such as relocation, the student wants to complete the program at another certified driving school.

REMEMBER that your enrollment means the student is assigned a space, and we have limited spaces for classes.

Refund for the Entire Program

  • If a student withdraws from the program one week before the start of the class there is a total refund.
  • If a student withdraws within six days before the start of the class, the student forfeits the registration fee of $50. The registration fee is applied to the total cost of the program.
  • If the student withdraws within 24 hours of the start of the class, the student forfeits $100 since that student has taken the place of another.

Behind-the-Wheel Refund

After the start of the classroom instruction and BEFORE the Behind-the-Wheel Instruction (BWI), refunds are as follows:

Refund Amounts
After One Class a BWI refund of $180 and $100
After Two Classes a BWI refund of $180 and $50
After Three Classes a BWI refund of $180 only

With valid and cogent explanations from the student, we may make exceptions.

COMAR states that a student CANNOT miss more than four classes. If a student does miss more than four (4) classes and wishes to enroll in another RPDS session in the calendar year RPDS will permit the student to enroll, if the student pays an administrative fee of $100 and the difference in cost between the initial class and the cost of the current class.

If you miss a class please check the class schedule page to see where the class of the same number will be given. You may take the same number class at any location at which we teach.

Please note that you have two years from the end of the class in which you are enrolled to complete the entire program, including the 6 hours Behind-the-Wheel. At the end of this time we close your records andyou would have to take the class again and we would not want you to have to do that! Thanks for your cooperation.

Class Cancellation Policy

Roland Park Driving School reserves the right to cancel any class that does not meet the minimum designated enrollment. In such an event, a full refund is available, or payment can be transfered to another session of equal value.

Individual class sessions at our various school locations (The Rotunda, Loyola Blakefield, Roland Park Country School, and Maryvale) may be cancelled and rescheduled at the discretion of the school. If a student cannot attend the class on the rescheduled date, we make it easy to find a make up date that works for you. Please see our Make Up A Class Page for more detailed information.

Behind-the-Wheel Cancellation Policy

We have a 24 hour cancellation policy for scheduled drives, with a fee of $75 if cancelled less than 24 hours before the scheduled session. Please email us as soon as you know you cannot make the drive time with the subject, "CANCELLATION".

There is never a charge if a drive is cancelled with more than 24 hour notice; only gratitude from us and others who want that spot. Please email us or call us at 410-467-RPDS and leave a message if you need to cancel. Thanks!
